Chakra Healing

Chakra Healing

Balance your seven energy centres to restore harmony in your body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

The chakra system is one of the most ancient and sophisticated maps of human energy available. Originating in Vedic tradition over 3,000 years ago, chakras are seven primary energy centres running along the spine, each governing specific physical, emotional, and spiritual functions. When these centres are balanced and flowing, you experience health, vitality, emotional stability, and spiritual connection. When they are blocked or imbalanced, you may notice recurring patterns of illness, emotional reactivity, mental fog, or spiritual disconnection.

The Seven Chakras

Root Chakra (Muladhara)

Location: Base of spine | Colour: Red

Governs safety, security, survival, and belonging. When balanced: you feel grounded, safe, and supported. When blocked: anxiety, financial fear, and feeling unrooted.

Healing: Walking barefoot, red foods, grounding meditations, Muladhara mantra (LAM)

Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)

Location: Lower abdomen | Colour: Orange

Governs creativity, pleasure, sexuality, and emotional flow. When balanced: creative expression and healthy relationships. When blocked: guilt, emotional numbness, creative blocks.

Healing: Creative expression, water element, orange foods, VAM mantra

Solar Plexus (Manipura)

Location: Upper abdomen | Colour: Yellow

Governs personal power, confidence, willpower, and identity. When balanced: self-assurance and direction. When blocked: low self-esteem, people-pleasing, indecision.

Healing: Sunlight, core exercises, yellow foods, RAM mantra

Heart Chakra (Anahata)

Location: Centre of chest | Colour: Green/Pink

Governs love, compassion, forgiveness, and connection. When balanced: open heart, healthy love. When blocked: grief, inability to trust, loneliness, bitterness.

Healing: Heart-opening yoga, rose quartz, green foods, YAM mantra

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

Location: Throat | Colour: Blue

Governs communication, truth, and self-expression. When balanced: clear, authentic expression. When blocked: fear of speaking, chronic throat issues, dishonesty with self.

Healing: Singing, journaling, blue foods, HAM mantra

Third Eye (Ajna)

Location: Between eyebrows | Colour: Indigo

Governs intuition, wisdom, and inner vision. When balanced: clear perception and strong intuition. When blocked: confusion, inability to trust gut instincts, headaches.

Healing: Meditation, amethyst, dark blue foods, OM mantra

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

Location: Top of head | Colour: Violet/White

Governs spiritual connection, divine consciousness, and enlightenment. When balanced: peace, purpose, and connection to the divine. When blocked: spiritual disconnection, cynicism, existential emptiness.

Healing: Meditation, silence, fasting, AH or silent mantra

Signs Your Chakras Need Healing

  • Physical symptoms — Recurring health issues in specific body areas often correspond to the chakra governing that region.
  • Emotional patterns — Chronic anxiety (root), guilt (sacral), low confidence (solar plexus), or inability to love (heart) all point to specific chakra imbalances.
  • Recurring life themes — Persistent money struggles, relationship breakdowns, communication issues, or feeling spiritually empty are chakra signals.
  • Energetic sensitivity — Feeling drained around certain people or environments often indicates chakra vulnerabilities.

How to Heal Your Chakras

1. Meditation and Breathwork

Focused meditation on each chakra — visualising its colour, chanting its mantra, and breathing into its location — is one of the most effective healing approaches. Even 10 minutes daily creates measurable shifts over time.

2. Sound Healing

Each chakra has a corresponding seed mantra (bija mantra) and resonant frequency. Chanting, singing bowls, tuning forks, and binaural beats tuned to specific frequencies can clear and activate blocked chakras.

3. Crystals and Gemstones

Crystals carry specific vibrational properties that interact with chakra energies. Red jasper and garnet for root, carnelian for sacral, citrine for solar plexus, rose quartz for heart, lapis lazuli for throat, amethyst for third eye, clear quartz for crown.

4. Yoga and Movement

Specific yoga poses activate and balance different chakras — grounding poses for root, hip openers for sacral, core work for solar plexus, backbends for heart, shoulder openers for throat, forward folds for third eye, inversions and savasana for crown.

5. Diet and Colour Therapy

Eating foods that match each chakra’s colour provides gentle energetic support. Surrounding yourself with specific colours — through clothing, decor, or visualisation — also influences chakra energy.

Chakras and Vedic Astrology

The chakra system and Vedic astrology are deeply interconnected. Each planet governs a specific chakra — the Sun governs the solar plexus, the Moon the sacral chakra, Saturn the root chakra, Mercury the throat chakra, Venus the heart chakra, Jupiter the crown chakra. Your birth chart can reveal which chakras are naturally strong and which require more intentional work.

“Healing the chakras is not about fixing what is broken — it is about remembering what was always whole.”

How long does chakra healing take?

Acute imbalances can shift in days or weeks with consistent practice. Deep-rooted patterns, especially those tied to childhood experiences or karmic inheritance, may take months of dedicated work. Consistency matters more than intensity.

Can I heal my chakras on my own?

Absolutely. Daily meditation, yoga, and conscious lifestyle choices create significant healing. For deeply held trauma or persistent blocks, working with a guide adds depth and accountability to the process.
